“Sharing the journey…sharing the dream.”
A pair of magnificent cougars warming themselves in the early morning sun.  This image was done as a tribute to a good friend who shared my dream of becoming a professional artist.  His name was Peter Law.  When we first began to follow our dreams we spent a good deal of time in my studio, he creating the most incredible images with pen and ink as I developed my skills with scratchboard.  Sadly, Peter’s journey was cut short by cancer.  In his memory I created Companions in his pointillism style…thousands of tiny dots, rather than scratches.  Peter had more influence on my work and on me than he knew.   I miss that influence and the “character” that provided it a great deal.  In the course of a lifetime our companions come and go.  Cherish each and every one of them.  One never knows how long their journey, or ours, may be.       -Al Nelson Weitzel
