Solitude tiger painting and print

“To lead is to set yourself apart.”

A solitary resting tiger.  The color scheme in this image is called a “split complimentary.”  The greens, yellows and oranges of this scene are derived from a pie-shaped portion of the color wheel.  The shade of mauve in the background was determined by finding the mid-point of the pie and using its complement.  This intention is to create and balance of color in the image that is both striking and comforting to the eye.  The message; like the tiger, the leader seldom found hanging out with the gang at the coffee shop.  His or her time is spent in directed activity or in contemplative resting.  This is not to say that the leader is incapable of social interaction and often has a great number of friends.  Rather, the leader knows that, to stand out from the crowd, one can’t be always trying to fit in with the crowd.
