“Encourage curiosity…it is the beginning of knowledge.” A powerful Siberian Tiger gazing in wonder at a beautiful blue butterfly. This image was inspired by the thought that we can improve the quality of our lives by learning to appreciate what we already have, rather than always trying to gobble up more. The intense gaze of this tiger as it studies the butterfly is so much like the curiosity seen in the young that the title “Wonder” seemed a natural. Often we lose that sense of wonder as we grow older and our world gets too busy, and yet curiosity is what helps the young learn so quickly and why the youthful always find joy in life. -Al Nelson Weitzel |
